Scottsdale was always my favorite vacation destination and it still is…even though I live here now.
There is so much natural beauty here. Hiking is a favorite activity of AZ residents and visitors alike. There are so many wonderful mountains to hike. To name a few in the area and a bit of a drive away:
- Squaw Peak/Piestewa Peak
- Pinnacle Peak Mountain
- Camelback Mountain
- South Mountain
- The McDowell Mountains
- The Grand Canyon (multiple trails)
- Tom’s Thumb, North Side
- Sedona (multiple trails)
- Shaw Butte with towers
- Deem Hills West with Summit
- Thunderbird H-2
- Deem Hills East
- Dreamy Draw
- Papago Park
- Lost Dutchman State Park
- Black Mountain
I am trying to hit all of them, little by little. But not far from our Troon North rental (you can see it from our rental home), Pinnacle Peak Mountain is a beautiful hike. You will notice that Arizona mountains have such a different view from each other and none are similar, which makes it so nice to try each of them. Pinnacle Peak Mountain is such a gorgeous mountain. The views are spectacular and there is a lot of green in the scenery, which is very different from many of the other mountains. It is, however, an easy hike, compared to a lot of the other mountains. But it is well worth the trip, especially on a sunny day with 73 degree weather, like my New Year’s Day hike.
